Ok totally ruining this for anyone that hasn't seen the game (so if you haven't seen the game don't read this..... go watch the game and come back)..... WE ARE IN THE MEDAL ROUND!!!! We came out first in our bracket after beating the Russians today (and playing well) due to the end result of the Italy v China game (too hard to explain so just yeah, we go straight to semifinals). We will not play again until the 19th against the winner of the Australia v China quarterfinal game that is played on the 17th. Wow I am SOOOOOO excited I cannot even describe it! The game today went great, we started playing better as a whole, our defense improved, we had some great offensive runs and we are just super excited right now (obviously since I keep saying it hahaha). Anyway, things here are wonderful, I just got to spend the evening with the fam and roomie and kevin (my friends from Stanford that are here to cheer.... teehee I just rhymed). We had dinner at TGIFridays and it was lovely! It was really nice to be able to sit down and actually see them for a bit.... though it was rather loud and my fam might just be the winners for loudest group! But honestly all the family and friends are awesome and GREAT cheerers (I mean if you can't hear them on TV, I'm telling you they are loud and it is really cool to be able to hear them). Hmmmmmm..... I don't really know what else I have to say because I'm just so caught up and excited about being in the medal round! yay!

Hi Allison,
This is your Traverse City Cousin! We are hoping that someone is keeping copies of all of the waterpolo. We are getting very limited coverage on our cable. If someone puts a video/DVD together at some point of all of the women's water polo, we want one!!!!
WE are enjoying the blog! It kind of feels like we are there! We are having Chinese takeout tonight!

I'm going home to see the DVR right now! I saw the score this morning so I'm very glad to hear how that places you in the brackets. I realize your upcoming matches are your first priority, but I hope you get a chance to see some other events.
BTW I loved your goal in the Italy game. The commentator said something along the line of "you can't make a better shot than that!"
And, the US fans are awesome on TV. Still am not sure I saw the family--was Brian wearing a flag bandana?
Hi Alison,
Great game against Russia! I was up at 5:00am to see your game (which wasn't on til noon) and watched a different game. Great goals you scored! My "Gregorka" Olympic shirt is in the wash and ready for the 19th! Glad to hear you got time with the Family. We are all enjoying the Blog, even Grandma Flo! Keep up the GREAT work and Good luck on the next game! GO USA!
Alison, Way To Go...right into the medal round!!! So happy for you and the team! I love the live streaming online! You can definately hear the families cheering and chanting! Saw quite a few shots of Andrea, with that big grin that mirrors her sisters ;) and I'm afraid I haven't been able to make out everyone else except for a great shot of Brad cheering at the railing with all the "red shirts". He kind of stood out :) I've tried to "freeze frame" but that takes me back to the beginning of the game, lol!
Great game, enjoy your weekend!!!
Alison,
We are living vicariously through your postings. What a great experience you are having. We downloaded and modified a picture of you getting your face smashed blocking a ball during the game with China. (looked pretty brutal) Took us back to your Stanford day’s with Val when someone (mostly Val) was always getting hurt. Keep up the great work; we know Team USA will be victorious. With you and Elsie on the team how can they lose? We can hardly wait till you come home victorious from China and can start thinking about some smowboarding (this time injury free)
Sue & Brad
