Some pictures...from the trip...don't worry, there are captions...
Cool sculpture on the Olympic Green. Pre-Chicken dinner...ew.
The torch!!
View from the Bubble! Inside looking up through the ceiling! :)
Grocery shopping with the Steffens...the Budweiser display!
The most disturbing thing ever at the Beijing Zoo. The green guy? Yeah, he's fake...and totters around pulling a small child in his little cart. Creep factor was VERY high.
The Summer Palace...VERY cool.
Another part of the Summer Palace...AND there was blue sky! :)
More Summer Palace!
The crazed ridiculousness at McDonald's on the Green...wow. All those people out there were in line to get into the place. And I think the blurred lady in front right there is a nice touch....considering people were sprinting to get in line...
Tianemen Square...yeah, that was a long time ago. But lots to see and a big long day of sightseeing went with that!
Part of the Forbidden City!
The Beijing Zoo! PANDAS! :) Err...pandA.
The zebras. Rather GREAT shot if you ask me. The only thing that made me mad was that people were actually up close and petting them...kind of not okay in the zoo...?
Elephant. And people were CHUCKING apples into the cage... :( And then at the monkey area, where it is VERY clearly labeled that you are not to cross over the railing and get up close to the glass, PARENTS were lifting their children over the thing and pushing them to go bang on the glass and freak out the animals. Ugh. You would think there would be more people around to enforce the rules considering how many police are stationed throughout the entire city. But oh well.
